The chords you use easily succeeds that what you try to get out. A pop-ish melody, simple and fun to listen to.

However your choice of the sounds you make kinda makes this track feel like it would fit better in a game. For some reason I had terraria in my head when listening to the track!

MelkorMorgoth responds:

Thank you for your favourable review!

I don't know much about terraria, but i just take it that this is a good thing. The song doesn't have any special purpose and can be used for games, movies and secret satanic rituals. Use it as you want (under NG rules of course :)

Pretty neat, it's pretty fitting music for this time of the month.

However, using a sequencer from a game, is nothing to really review about. That feature in that game is pretty neat, but I wouldn't classify it as a professional d.a.w. And because of that I cannot really add anything to the review and give it a 2.5/10

Retsamehtmai responds:

Why does the format of the song make it any less of a song? It sounds like you are saying that it's bad just because of how it was made. :( "Oh it's made on a game so it automatically sucks." :/ It's still music, sure i could have used a different program, but this game is adequate enough for what I want to make. I don't do this professionally, I do it for fun, therefore, I use lbp2 to make the music. It's music, a combination of sound, why can't you review it? O_O ...is everybody that makes music on here professional? i didn't know that...

2spooky4me while I can't stop dancing.

The whole mix of this track doesn't feel comfortable in my ears. All sounds are concentrated on the mid while the low and high sounds barely gets any room, which kinda tires my ears quickly.

Track is solid overall.

Conal responds:

Thanks for the feedback.

If you want to remix it, drop me a line for the .flp

Very soothing and its racking up to this climax I like!

The vocalist has an amazing voice, but it felt a little odd to hear 2 vocals at the same that didn't blend well together in a way that it wasn't in sync with the other or this one false note I was hearing. It's not a completely false note, but let's say that in western music you have what you call whole notes and half notes and she's singing the fourth of a whole note...

Anyways, point is, I would've loved it more if the vocals were a bit tweaked here and there.

Jabicho responds:

Thank you so much!
It means a lot :)

The lack of an intro was pretty odd as I felt like I was fast-forwarding the song on accident and it turned out it's supposed to be like that.
Upbeat song, and the banjo was well-played. It also felt you needed to get into the song at the beginning which made the rhythm feel a bit off.

I like the chorus part, it had a very nice groove!

Keep on going and you might become the first guy to make me love country songs for the first time haha!

Ceevro responds:

Yeah, I debated whether or not to add a 4-count in as an intro. i just felt it was more challenging as a musician to do it without one. Perhaps I should have paid more attention to the listener, and not my own challenges, eh? I think I might still add one, just to give the listener a heads-up...

Very sweet of you to write a birthday song for your dad, that alone deserves 5 stars in my book, but it's about the song I have to review, so here we go.

To begin, I wouldn't tell if this is truly an Ambient since most ambient tracks are really spacy and it mostly sets up this relatively weird atmosphere. It sounds dreamy at first, but it suddenly takes a structure that could turn into a pop-music anytime.

The melody set is solid, very sweet, can't add much about it. Good use of the synth that goes in harmony with the bass and other sounds.
The kickdrum feels a little weak. I feel like you could've give it a little more power to it, so it leaves an bigger impact, but that's all subjective.

Overall I'd give this song a 3.5/5

=> Ambient =>

Well, the thing is, I'm doing a project where I'm trying to create a song that fits in every single Newgrounds genre (all 37!) by next March, and I felt ambient was the best fit for this song, as I wrote it without a specific genre in mind. It does sound sort of pop-like and doesn't have as heavy an atmospheric quality as many ambient songs do, but I still think it's a somewhat appropriate fit.

=> synth in harmony =>

I think melodies are basically the most important part of a song. At the end of the day, you don't have a beat stuck in your head, you don't have a structure stuck in your head, you have a melody. They're what people remember your songs by, and I tried really hard to get the melodic synths to work with each other (as I do for most of my songs). Glad you liked them!

=> kickdrum =>

Aw... I was trying pretty hard to mix the kick in well. I listened to it through my earphones, and it sounded nice. I listened to it through my laptop speakers, and it was a bit quiet, so I raised the volume. I listened to it through larger speakers and it was a bit quiet, so I raised the volume. I guess it still wasn't enough. :P

Again, I'm sorry that I didn't link properly in the thread. Thanks for the review!

Really spacy and your goal as to make this as an ambient track, really suits what you describe as well, well done!

Fubaka responds:

Heyo! Thanks for reviewing!

Stick around, and in another few days, I'll have a nice surprise for all y'all!

You're nailing it in giving it this very spacy atmosphere and I liked it.

Too bad it was a little disappointing the moment when I was hearing the kick, I was just hoping for a thicker layer that had more low sounds or else I'd go nuts!

Other than that it's all good!

Spadezer responds:

Noted. Thanks for the thoughts.

The 1 major thing I did like in this track was the upbeat tune and vibe it had.

The 1 major problem I didn't like is that the track sounded really muddy and murmurous.

citrullus responds:

Thank for the review! :) I think I know what you mean about the whole muddy and murmurous thing. I think something causing that is all of the delay I put on most of the drums. I'll play around with that in FL Studio to see if it sounds any better without all of that delay.

Just faved this music track, should I make myself more clear of how much I like this track? ;D

Stadler responds:

Thanks, happy to hear!!!

A person who's currently studying music production that makes music, that's based of melodic techno, electro mixed with orchestra sounds. Jjjjup, pretty chaotic it seems.
